Our Committees

  • Executive Committee: Responsible for dealing with matters set out in the SDSS’s bylaws.
  • Events/Social & Fundraising Committee: Responsible for organizing SDSS events.
  • Merchandise Sub-Committee: Responsible for managing SDSS merchandise.
  • Communications & Education/Advocacy Committee: Responsible for communicating with SDSS members, stakeholders and the public, for educating stakeholders and the public about Down syndrome, and for providing stakeholders and the public with educational resources.
  • New Parent Committee: Responsible for connecting with parents of newborns with Down syndrome, and providing them with resources and support. We look to celebrate every amazing new baby with Down syndrome by providing a Welcome Basket to show that our community welcomes them with open arms!
  • Nominating Committee: Responsible for ensuring the sustainability of the SDSS and to ensure that members have access to a fair process for nominations to the Board.
  • Fund Development Committee: Responsible for developing, overseeing, and managing a dedicated fund aimed at enhancing the quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
